Like most kids in the 90s, I grew up playing Street Fighter, and when I got word that there was going to be a live-action film, I was ecstatic. While the film didn’t exactly deliver as I expected it to it still remains a staple of my collection. What can I say?

I've really been into collecting cards lately. I'm not sure why really, I think a lot of it has to do with nostalgia, but either way, because of which I recently ended up at Collect-A-Con with my kid a few weeks back. SiriusXM’s new podcast series, Comic-Con Begins: Origin Stories of the San Diego Comic-Con and the Rise of Modern Fandom, promises to be the final word on the history of a beloved pop-culture juggernaut. More than that, though, it looks to go beyond being a mere fawning tribute. Sure there are the expected celebrity interviews, but there are also in-depth examinations of the folks behind the scenes who aren’t household names but that nevertheless were instrumental in shaping our modern geeky landscape. I would expect nothing less from pop culture historian Mathew Klickstein.
